Lets think about this, are potions good for the gameplay? Maybe health potions, but stamina and mana?
These potions ruin an entire set of skills across all classes. those are the mana and stamina drain or burn skills, and skills that restore those to the group or yourself.
There are so many feats and skills for classes that can be made to provide mana and stamina back increasing amounts if you feat them more. But why waste those points, or even use those skills when they provide no real negative effect on the enemy.
In a group pvp fight, it should be about what group manages thier stamina/mana better with combined abilities like battle cry, or an improved martyrdom that can turn the tide back by providing more stamina/mana back to the group. Or any class with a mana drain can be sent to harass a caster/healer and drain them of thier mana forcing them to rethink what they are doing.
There is an entire gameplay mechanic missing from the game, Its like guild wars without the thought involved.
What is the point of any of those skills if the second you use them, a potion totally negates the effect you had. A manaburn or stamina drain should be an Oh **** moment, that might make you rethink your current strategy.
There could be a couple fixes for this problem. Make stamina and mana potions last 5 seconds but provide a larger tick, but lock out for 1-2 minutes.
